Fiskardo, the ancient Panormos, is located in a deep bay at the northernmost tip of the island, opposite Ithaca, and is famous for its traditional architecture but also for its cosmopolitan port. It is one of the main tourist resorts of the island, with a fully organized tourist infrastructure. Many boats arrive in the village, the owners of which stay for their entire vacation, such as Robert Guiscardos, from whom the name of the village comes. Guiscardos arrived here in 1085 in order to conquer the island, but remained until his death. Most of the mansions we find in Fiskardo belong to the period of Venetian occupation.
